Registered Therapeutic Counsellor

Contact: rebecca@fhlclinics.com

Rebecca Kwan is an art therapist with a Graduate Diploma in art therapy from Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, and is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) with Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT). She works with children, adults, and seniors from a client-centered, trauma-informed approach, supporting issues including anxiety, life-transitions, grief and loss, and trauma. Her work highlights exploring different parts of self, fostering self-awareness and self-discovery, and cultivating self-acceptance and inner reconciliation through multi-media art, such as drawing, painting, clay and paper collage.

Originally a visual artist and a private art teacher, Rebecca uses art as a container for meaning making through symbols and storytelling around unspoken ideas, thoughts, and memories. Her non-linear, multifaceted and dynamic approach emphasizes spontaneous art-making, with imagination and creativity at the forefront. Taking a non-judgmental stance, Rebecca aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for inquisitive exploration within an ethical framework. As a guide, she aims to walk alongside client and help them find a sense of security, agency, and renewed strength, while promoting sensory and artistic engagement for emotional healing.

Outside of arts and art therapy, Rebecca enjoys travelling, reading, playing the piano, watching dramas, trying new restaurants, and spending time with God and others.

Rebecca’s availability may vary week to week. Please contact our office to inquire about booking a session with her.
