Psychological & Counselling Services

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the practice of physical distancing, most of our counselling sessions are now conducted via PIPA compliant virtual platform or telephone. If you would like to have in-person session with one of our therapists, yon can read about our office's Covid-19 safety plan.
Joanna is a registered clinical counsellor with BCACC; fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She obtained her masters degree in counselling with City University of Seattle. For more than 15+ years, she’s been working as a counsellor, behavioural interventionist, educational assistant, and support worker in home, school, and community settings with immigrant families and those with special needs children.

Joanna recognizes the long-term effects of our culture-of-origin, especially in first- and second-generation immigrant families. Worldviews on parenting, relationships, identity, living purpose, dreams, and basic needs are examples of such impacts. Her passion in counselling grew as she witnessed people realizing the roots of the problem, becoming unstuck, discovering new ways to move on, and celebrating every little success.
On her own time, Joanna likes to scrapbook and try new ramen or bubble tea places. Hiking and water-rafting would be her favourite summer to-do’s. Spending time with her friends, husband, little niece, and godchildren, gives her energy to keep going.
